Windows, Doors and Floors

Since my last post, lots of progress has been made on the space, and if you are walking by....check out the posters in the window. More of Todd's work is on display to give you a taste of what is to come!

The contractor started working on transforming the space. Still too early to tell if the floors are salvageable, but we discovered hardwoods.

Rock the Vote. It's pretty clear that Cream Soda is taking a commanding lead in our poll. To prove that your vote counts, Jeff has plans to create a blogger special Honey Cream Soda. Power to the People!

Thanks for voting!

A whole lotta shakin' goin' on

Did you catch the A&E this Friday? Jeff's legal counsel, foodie-friend and bagel baker, Michael Zusman, wrote a great article on the milkshake scene in Portland. Check it out here.

Too bad we weren't open yet...I'm certain Jeff's shakes will make the list next time around! Doesn't a cowboy coffee shake made from Stumptown beans sound delish? You won't have to wait much longer...

Good point, how much longer you ask? When is Blueplate scheduled to open? We are aiming for an early September opening. Any day now, we will be at the whim of a contractor...so keep that date flexible! :-)

Your Opinion Counts, Rock the Vote!

What is your favorite soda flavor? Take our new poll and see how your favorite sodey pop measures up! I'm testing this poll, let me know if you have any problems. It won't let you cheat (sorry to my friends in Florida)...so one vote per person please! Happy Voting!

Logo A Go-Go!

We have nothing but lovin' spoonfuls for Todd with Fullblast, Inc. for creating the look and feel for Blueplate. He's really captured the spirit of Jeff's plan and created some amazing art.

An Inside Scoop (pardon the pun).

Here is a sneak peek inside...this shot was taken from the stairs, looking down at the front window. Can't you just see the happy people enjoying sodas and Blueplate specials?!

From this perspective, the counter will be on the left wall, by the pillar. The stairs lead to Jeff's office and storage (no dining upstairs). Yes, that is carpet, and it is mauve (ew).

Contractors are coming soon to remove said carpet and work their contracting magic to bring Blueplate to life. ¡Adios jewelry store elements!

So, what do you think? Blue paint on the walls? Here come the interior design decisions.
